GTA VI pushes premium game pricing into new territory
Grand Theft Auto VI finally has an official price, and it may become one of the clearest signs yet that major video game releases are moving beyond the old USD 69.99 standard.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the standard edition of GTA VI will cost USD 79.99, with pre-orders opening on June 25, 2026.
The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Two editions for one of gaming’s biggest launches
The standard edition will be priced at USD 79.99. A higher-tier Ultimate Edition will be available for USD 99.99, offering additional digital content tied to the game’s main characters, Jason and Lucia.

That extra content includes vehicles, weapons, clothing and other in-game items designed for players who want more from day one.
Pre-order bonuses and GTA+
Players who pre-order or purchase GTA VI before November 20, 2026 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a bonus bundle built around the classic Vice City identity.
Digital pre-orders will also include one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service connected to its online ecosystem and selected benefits.
Even physical copies are going digital
Digital buyers will be able to pre-load GTA VI starting November 12, 2026.
Rockstar will also sell physical editions, but those boxed copies will include a download code instead of a traditional disc. That detail matters because it shows how even major console releases are continuing to shift toward a digital-first model.
Why this matters beyond GTA
GTA VI is not just another game release. It is the first new mainline Grand Theft Auto title since GTA V, which originally launched in 2013 and became one of the most successful entertainment products in gaming history.
Because of that, its USD 79.99 price point could influence how other publishers approach future AAA launches. If GTA VI sells at that level without major resistance, the industry may treat it as a new benchmark.
Confirmed platforms
