RTX 50 SUPER plans put on hold
Industry sources and board partners report that NVIDIA has paused the launch of the RTX 50 SUPER lineup. These GPUs were expected to be a mid-generation refresh, but currently have no confirmed release window.
Why the delay?
A major factor is the shortage of next-generation memory, combined with significantly higher production costs. At the same time, NVIDIA is reportedly allocating most of its manufacturing capacity to AI-focused chips, which generate far higher margins than consumer graphics cards.
Limited competition in the high-end market
Analysts also point to the lack of strong competition in the high-end GPU segment. This gives NVIDIA more flexibility to extend the lifespan of its current products without rushing new SUPER variants.
What about standard RTX 50 cards?
The standard RTX 50 series remains unaffected and continues to be sold as planned. The uncertainty only surrounds the SUPER models, which were expected to offer higher performance and increased memory.
